Colossians 3:5-8 5Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming. 7 In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. 8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

Gospel Hope • Meditating on God’s Wrath… • Not in fearful expectation of your condemnation or future wrath… • But in the stunned amazement that God’s wrath has already been satisfied in Christ (Rom 2:4, 3:25, Heb. 2:17, 1 John 2:1-2, 4:10).
Gospel Response • Put Off (Confess/Repent/Forsake) • Believe the Gospel. • Own your anger. • Let HS reveal source – James 4 • Confess to God – 1 John 1:9 • Confess to others – James 5:16
