Features • Flexible, broad-based training that adapts to the demands of most practice settings • Emphasis on culturally appropriate care of under-served populations • Extraordinarily supportive medical community • Excellent clinical training • Outstanding obstetrics training including operative deliveries

Opportunities • Expanding numbers: Primary Care Residency Expansion Grant • 18  21 residents • 2010 – 2015 • Outstanding match: 5/7 interns from SE Idaho • Maximizing GME funding: Residency Redistribution Program • IME 9.69 + 3.75 = 13.44 FTEs • DME 13.47 + 3.75 = 17.22FTEs • Rexburg rural training track: 2.0 FTES • NAP

  7. New Access Point • 2007-2012: Planning process for NAP • Application submitted 12/2010  Scored 94/100  Congress cut funding • March 2012, additional funds approved by Congress. • June 20, 2012, Announcement of funding award for the New Access Point

  8. New Access Point • Federally-subsidized access for all patients to outpatient primary care services on an income-based sliding scale. • By January 2013 Pocatello Family Medicine will be a Health West Clinic • Affordable medications. (403 B pharmacy)
