Even/odd functions, revisited • In other words: • cosine must be even • sine must be odd • Recall the definitions: • An even function f(x) obeys f(-x) = f(x). • An odd function f(x) obeys f(-x) = -f(x). • If (u, v) is the end of an arc of length x in standard position on the unit circle, then: • cos x = u • sin x = v • Demo in GeoGebra.
