Your extended battery is already on your tablet. Notice it is just a flat, thin battery. The Extended Battery
Make sure to lock the extended battery The red should not be showing You MUST keep the extended battery on your tablet at all times. Adding the Extended Battery
Checking the Extended Battery Press the button on the front to see the indicator of how much battery is left.
All 4 corners should be secured behind the plastic. You MUST keep the tablet in the case at all times. Placing the Tablet in the Case
Checking Your Corners • It’s important to know how to remove and place your tablet in the case. • Periodically you should remove your tablet from the case and check the corners for damage. • If you find damage, turn in a Work Order, put the date you discovered the damage and describe the possible accident.

If you haven’t changed your password Login to one of the desktop computers in your classroom It will then prompt you to change your password After changing your password go back to your tablet and log in Logging In
The network login screen will appear. Select OK. Type your username: s and 6 digit ID# ex: s123456. Type your password. You should have created a new password in your English class. Note: If you already changed your password this year, log in with that information. Logging In
Your tablet is not fully charged. Once logged in you will be able to check your battery. Click on the battery icon in the notification area on the bottom right part of your screen. If you lose battery power during this period, a few students at a time can take turns plugging in. You can also look onto a neighbor’s tablet to follow along. Check Your Battery
Remove the tablet corners from under the plastic. Swivel the screen CLOCKWISE only. Going to Tablet Mode
Never try to force the screen in the other direction. Forcing the screen could result in damaging the tablet monitor, which is avery expensive item to replace. Turning the Tablet Screen
Place the tablet screen back under the plastic. Lay the screen down until it clicks and latches. Remove the Velcro cover to view the screen. Turning the Tablet Screen
To change the orientation of the screen, use your stylus or finger and tap the double arrow button. You can change the display to portrait or landscape in different directions. Screen Orientation
Remove the corners from the plastic. 2. Swivel the screen counter clockwise until it sets in place. Steps to closing your Tablet PC
3. Once the screen faces you, place the tablet corners back in the plastic. 4. Shut the tablet until it closes. Steps to closing your Tablet PC
Steps to closing your Tablet PC • Always make sure to zip the case so your tablet is secure. • Not zipping your case could result in the tablet sliding out and being damaged.
Plug in your power supply into the back of the tablet every night in order to have a fully charged computer for the next school day. Charging Your Tablet
Five Day Rule • As soon as you know there is something wrong with your tablet, turn in a work order. • You MUST turn in a work order within FIVE days of the accident or malfunction. • Failure to do so may result in you having to pay for the repair. • It is important to turn it in as soon as you know there is a problem.
Online Work Order • This year, after the first day, there will be no paper work order forms. • All repair requests will be completed online. • You can access the repair work order website while you are on campus. • You will not be able to submit a work order from home.
Online Work Order • You can turn in a work order on any computer – your tablet, the computers in the classroom, the library computers, etc. • It does NOT have to be completed on your personal tablet. • The Work Order Request (WOR) is an online form, so it does require an internet connection.
Logging in to the WOR • Links to WOR will be available in LMS and on StudentNet • You will login using your Klein login & password s and 6 digit ID# • ex: s123456
Was it an Accident? • Now you need to answer whether it was an accident or not.
Examples of Accidents • Tablet fell or was dropped and broke. • Student fell with tablet or backpack. • Accidentally dropped tablet or backpack.
Examples of Non-Accident • Screen is loose • Stylus is broken • Touch screen not working • Mouse not working • Keys not working • Software Issues • Internet Problems • Not latching • Not Charging • Black Screen • Won’t Turn On
Describe Your Problem • You will get different screens depending on whether it was an accident or not. • Either way, please explain what happened and what is wrong with your tablet in detail. • You must answer all questions in order to proceed. • Click “save” when done.

Submitted! • After clicking save, you will get a message that you have successfully updated the form. Click OK. • After clicking OK, it will log you out of the Work Order Request System and take you to StudentNet.
What Next? • Now, take your tablet to the repair center during the designated times on your campus. • When you get there, the repair center secretary will make sure your form is complete. • IF YOU HAVE NOT ANSWERED the questions APPROPRIATELY and COMPLETELY, you will be sent back to class to edit your work order.
Editing Your Work Order • You will log back into the online WOR system. • Once logged in, you should see the work orders you have submitted. • Click on the top one to edit it.

Examples of Good Answers • “I accidentally dropped a textbook on my tablet while taking it out of my backpack. Left side of tablet is cracked and several keys flew off the tablet on impact.” • “I accidentally knocked a cup over and it spilled on my tablet when I put my bag down in class. Tablet will not turn on anymore.”
Examples of Good Answers • “My tablet fell off my desk when someone walked by and accidentally knocked it off. The hinge is loose and the screen won’t stay up.” • “I accidentally dropped my tablet in the hallway when bumped by a student running and now the screen flickers and the hinge is wobbly.”

Examples of Bad Answers • “Accidentally spilled Dr. Pepper on Tablet in commons.” (didn’t say what is wrong with tablet) • “Screen is cracked” (didn’t say how it happened or where it happened)
Examples of Bad Answers • “Accidentally dropped on floor on way to class.” (didn’t say what is wrong with tablet) • “I dropped it.” (didn’t say what is wrong with tablet or where it happened)
Student Responsibilities • Return your Tablet PC fully charged everyday to school • Carry your Tablet PC in the case at all times • Do not loan your Tablet PC to anyone…this is YOUR learning tool • You may NOT play games, load or download any software, music or pictures on the Tablet PC unless instructed by a teacher to do so
Student Responsibilities (cont.) • Do not place food or liquids near your Tablet PC • No stickers, skins, or other adhesive objects on your Tablet PC • Never leave your Tablet PC unattended in school or in a vehicle • Tablet PCs are NOT to be used on Klein buses • Take care of your Tablet!
Student Responsibilities (cont.) • Backup all important documents or files to your N:Drive, or network drive on a weekly basis. You cannot access this network drive from home, so keep all working files on your My Documents folder • It is your responsibility to bring your tablet to school everyday

Student Discipline (Major) • Listed below are some (not all) major infractions and the consequences for each Possession of pornography/Any content that is sexual in nature(Based on the severity of the offense, this consequence could range from ISS to expulsion.) A minimum of 3 days ISS for first time offense -- DAEP placement for subsequent infractions. Possible expulsion and/or criminal charges if determined to be underage pornography. Distribution of pornography – DAEP placement Intentional damage to tablet Consult KISD police for $ amount and possible restitution and/or criminal charges to be filed. Could range from ISS to DAEP placement or possible expulsion. Charges can reach State Jail Felony for destruction of school property. Access to violent websites, movies Depending on content, could range from ISS to DAEP placement
Tablet Discipline (Major) Hacking into school databases/Hacking software DAEP placement or possible expulsion Obtaining personal information of staff/students with intent to do harm DAEP placement or possible expulsion Cyber-bullying Discipline based upon specifics—could range from ISS to DAEP placement Home movies with inappropriate content (pornography, drug use, gang references) Could range from ISS to DAEP placement Pictures of fellow students (underage or inappropriate) Discipline/Criminal charges based upon specifics—could range from ISS to DAEP or possible expulsion
