BARTER ECONOMY • Barter- To exchange one good or service for another. • Example: If you were to give a chicken to Mr. Fessler, he would have to trade something of equivalent value.
VERNACULAR • People with little education spoke Vernacular Languages. • It was everyday speech that varied from place to place.
GUILDS • Guilds- An association of craftsmen in a particular trade. • Examples: Carpenters, Blacksmiths, Masons, and so many more.
HANSEATIC LEAGUE • Hanseatic league- An alliance along the coast of Northern Europe that was used for economic gain.
Usury • Usury- Over charging of interest on loans. • An interest rate that was higher then that set by the government.
