  3. Breakfast • The British liketobeginthedaywith a cup of coffeeor tea. Thentheyhavebreakfast. The traditional English breakfaststartswithcereals - cornflakeswithmilkorporridge(zabkása), an oats(zab) pudding, which is verytasty. Thiscan be followedbyfried bacon and eggsorsausageswith grilled tomatoes. Theyroundoff(befejez) withmanycups of tea orcoffee and a marmaladetoast.

  4. Elevenses • Laterinthemorningtheyhaveelevenses, which is usuallynot more than a cup of tea and biscuits. Sometimes, oftenatweekends, whentheygetuplater, theyhavebrunch, a combinationmeal, which is eatenforbreakfast and lunch.

  5. Lunch • The middaymeal is calledthelunch and is usuallyfairlylight, consisting of a warmdish and a dessert, orjust ham and cheesesandwichesandsomefruit.

  6. Teatime • Aroundfour o’clockintheafternoonthe English haveteatime. The mealconsists of thinslicesofbread and butterwithcheese, fish, ham, or a meatpaste, perhapssomevegetablesaslettuceortomatoes. This is followedbyjam, tarts orcakes. Thenthereareseveralcups of strong tea withmilk.

  7. Dinner • Dinner, the main meal, is servedintheeveningataround 7 o’clock, whenallmembers of thefamilyareathome. Itmayhavethreeorfourcourses. The mealconsists of soup, friedfish and chips ormeatwithvegetables. Beef, mutton and lambarepreferredtoporkin England. The English cookery is famousformeatpuddings and meatpies, whichareusuallyservedatdinner. As a desserttheycanhaveafruitsalad, apie, jelly, custardoricecream.

  8. Supper • Laterintheevening more tea,cocoa,milk,sandwiches,coldmeatorbiscuitsmay be eatenassupper.
