  2. I. The Meanings of the word “ Confession ” 1. To Acknowledge God’s Goodwill Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy endures for ever. (Dan 3 : 89) Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, [And] into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, [and] bless His name (Psa 100 : 4)

  3. I. The Meanings of the word “ Confession ” 2. To Declare Faith For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom 10 : 10) " Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven (Mat 10 : 32)

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (Jam 5 : 16)

  6. II. Steps of Repentance 1. Admitting in front of one’s Own Self Learning and Discipleship For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; (Jam 1 : 23) "Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing' -- and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked -- (Rev 3 : 17)

Remorsefulness (Regret) & Prayer I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, (Luk 15 : 18) A woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that [Jesus] sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind [Him] weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped [them] with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed [them] with the fragrant oil (Luk 7 : 37 - 38)

  9. II. Steps of Repentance 3. Renouncing Sins & Wrongdoings Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold" (Luk 19 : 8) Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you" (Joh 5 : 14)

  10. II. Steps of Repentance 4. Continuous Spiritual Struggle You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin (Heb 12 : 4) For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away (Mat 25 : 29)

  11. II. Steps of Repentance 5. Confession "Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Mat 18 : 18) So David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD" And Nathan said to David, "The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die (2Sa 12 : 13)
