I've written a lot about math classroom design, but I didn't always have my classroom walls covered. It wasn't till years after starting mentor that I hung my first anchor chart.

Now that I'm thinking about how to embellish my brand-new classroom in a brand-new district, I have actually understood that I never ever navigated to sharing images on this blog of my 2017-2018 classroom. My objective today is to fix that. I'm hoping you'll take pleasure in seeing some decoration ideas, and I'm hoping that assessing this past year's decorations will help me figure out what I want to keep/change in my brand-new space. If you missed the post with before pictures of my new classroom, you can find that here. In 2015, I taught Algebra 1, Math Concepts (Course for 9th Graders Not Prepared for Algebra 1), and Chemistry. Next year, I will be teaching Algebra 2, Pre-AP Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry. It will be fascinating to see how my decorations change since I will have no overlaps of classes taught in between this past year and next year. So, let's take a tour. Here's the view from just inside my classroom door. The big change for last year was that I moved from desks to tables for the first time. I liked the tables for the a lot of part. They were useful with teaching chemistry given that trainees needed area to collaborate on labs. This is a unit circle task that was created by one of my trig students in 2017. His daddy is the ag teacher, so he had the ability to integrate the task to make a system circle with the task to do some welding in ag class. We used the TI-30XS calculators in Algebra 1, so I kept a calculator poster up so I might advise trainees how to do different keystrokes on their calculators. I found it extremely practical to keep these lists on clipboards on the wall so they weren't cluttering up my desk. Keeping frequently used things OFF of my desk was a key suggestion I gained from Angela Watson's 40 Hour Teacher Workweek Program. Sign-ups are opening soon (June 5th!), so I advise that you consider registering. The program altered so numerous of the methods I structure my classroom and time in the classroom. I now can spend more of my time concentrating on the elements of my task I LIKE and less time worrying over the documents and other aspects I don't love. Please list me (Sarah Carter) as your referrer if you do sign up. You will likewise need to include my email address (mathequalslove (at) Gmail (dot) com). Unsure if you should sign up with or perhaps what the program has to do with? Take a look at these posts ( Evaluation of Angela Watson's 40 Hour Instructor Workweek Club, Eleven More Takeaways from Angela Watson's 40 Hour Instructor Workweek, A Final Reflection on Angela Watson's 40 Hour Teacher Workweek Club) I composed in January about what I have found out throughout the program. I have actually composed a lot about math http://www.commoncorematerial.com classroom design, however I didn't constantly have my classroom walls covered. You can see more of my classroom word walls in the post-High School Math Word Wall Concepts. I like practical classroom decor and that makes a classroom an inviting and low-stress location to discover. Now that I'm believing about how to embellish my new classroom in a new district, I have actually understood that I
