Introduction • Tawana Dockery • 4 years in CFISD • Currently teaching 4th grade math and social studies • Previously worked in marketing communications
As a Teacher • Implement Technology Station to accompany certain math lessons during the year. • In the fall, students create a presentation on the new animal they “discovered”. • View clips from United Streaming to encourage students to ask questions and stimulate thinking.
As a Leader • Technology Liaison (Intermediate Grades), coordinated campus T.E. day TECHnology workshop. • Designed inaugural Student Showcase site. • Member of campus Technology Committee for three years. • Assisted teachers with software and hardware issues.
As a Learner • Participated in campus Technology LPLC and utilized Robert Marzano’s Using Technology with Classroom Instruction That Works. • Completed courses on interactive whiteboard, PhotoStory, MovieMaker, and technology integration.
Integrating Technology into the Mathematics Classroom • I welcome the opportunity to assist my fellow educators in the technology journey and share strategies for the best ways to implement a successful plan.
As the mother of a 17 month old, I am keenly aware of what the future holds.

My Integration Techniques • Class Wikispace • https://dockery.wikispaces.com/ • Computer Station • Streaming Video • SMART Board
But, how do I “Integrate”? • Save websites to “Favorites” on student computers. • Use classroom computers as a Station Activity. • Create “Task Cards” or “Quick Reference” cards, laminate and place near computer station • Laptops are great for individual, or cooperative learning. • Cooperative learning (partners).
But, how do I “Integrate”? • Create a word document with links to desirable websites, and place on computer desktops. • Place word document on student drive in folder with your name on it. • Use a wikispace or teacher website. • Demonstrate on Interactive Whiteboard or TV.
BONUS TIP • Get a cheap jump drive to save student work on days when the network is down, or if student is unable to save for another reason.
