2. 1. METEOROLOGICAL MEASUREMENT AND FORECASTING • Automatic procedure for data import in collection center Sarajevo established for all meteorological stations • Old RETIM receiver is changed with new one thanks to Meteo France • We had activities in Migration to Table Driven Code Format (MTDCF), transfer to BUFR code • DAWBEE –EUMETSAT – We finished all preparation for installment of new station for receiving of satellite data • We started with activities for joining to METEOALARM system (Training Workshop Salzburg, Austria, 23-24 June 2010) INFORMAL CONFERENCE OF SOUTH-EAST EUROPEAN NMHS’s DIRECTORS (ICEED) - 10th Session

3. 2. CLIMATOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND STUDIES • We continue with our activities in Mediteranian Data Resque - MEDDARE project. We finished digitalization of historical data for 15 main meteorological stations for period from 1961 to 1990 • Current activities in COST Action – homogenization of meteorological records • In the SEECOF project we worked on the seasonal forecasting, we participated in the on line discussion with Center in Belgrade. Also, we worked on developing of Climate Prediction Tools – CPT model • In the frame of current DRR/SEE Regional program we worked on the exposure assessment of BiH from hydro-meteorological disasters • Our experts participated on workshops for risk assessement from drought and floods (Ljubljana, Istanbul) in the frame of DRR/SEE Regional program • We made agreement about sending of phenological data from BiH to European data Base (Project PEP725) INFORMAL CONFERENCE OF SOUTH-EAST EUROPEAN NMHS’s DIRECTORS (ICEED) - 10th Session

4. 3. ACTIVITIES IN THE HYDROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT • We continued co-operation with International Sava river commission. Our contribution in preparation of Hydrological almanah of Sava river for year 2006 was significant. This almanah is now available on the Internet site of the Sava Commission. This is first almanah for all Sava river catchment after 1986 when last almanah was published. • During 2010 we finished Hydrological Study for Una river catchment. This study will be essential hydrological base for preparation of future plan for water management. • For puropose of EIONET (Environmental Information Observing Network)/water we finished reports for 2008. In the report are: quality of rivers in BiH, quality of lakes in BiH, quality of Bosnian pert of the Adriatic sea and quality of the underground waters in BiH. All reports are in accordance with European Environmental Agency - EEA standards and can be found on the CDR Portal of the Agency. • We take part in preparation of the „State of Envirtonmental Report for BiH“ in the part for slatke vode. Report is part of EEA / EIONET SOER 2010 about state of environmental in the Europe. • For reporting in the frame of MED POL (Phase III – Monitoring activities) under Barcelona convention, we finished reports for 2006, 2007, aand 2008. Reports are connected to quality of sea water (nutrients) and loads. • We activelly participated in other important projects as National report on climate changes (part about water resources), researches connected to the problem of definition of ecological acceptible flows. 5. 4.ACTIVITIES IN THE ENVIRONMMENTAL FIELD • The Environment departmentin Sarajevo serving as a National Reference Center to European Enviroment protection Agency – EEA, for the field of air quality and climate changes, provided data within EIONET network of air quality, monthly overrun of ozone concentration, as well as summary summer report. INTERNATIONAL AND REGIONAL CO-OPERATION, AGREEMENTS • Hydrometeorological services in Bosnia-Herzegovina take active participation in Regional Programme on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in SEE – WMO/UNDP Joint Activities for the UN/ISDR Project. That was work on preparation of National profile, participation on National dialogue and so on. In frame of this Project, Bosnia-Herzegovina will join to ECMWF and EUMETNET. • On April 10, 2010, Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Macedonia and Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic hydrometeorological service Republic of Serpska, signed the Memorandum od understanding on professional and technical collaboration in the field of meteorology, climate changes, hydrology and monitoring the air and water quality. The Memorandum will help reinforcing the common initiatives of bilateral and regional collaboration within professional and scientific research programmes and projects of WMO and other international organizations and programmes of techinical cooperation.
