Best buddies Mission statement • Best Buddies is an International Organization, our Creekside chapter pairs people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities with other High School Students to create one-to-one friendships. In this club we promote Inclusion and Friendship. • This year the theme is “Buddies Without Borders” which means that friends don’t cut corners, they always are there to support one another.

Types of membership • Peer Buddies • More of a Commitment • One-to-One • More involvement • Have to be selected through interview process • Fill out application online and pay dues • Associate Buddies • Less commitment • Still have friendships but aren’t one-to-one • Fill out application online and pay dues
Peer Buddies • One-to-One Friendships • Matching Survey • Match Common Interests and specific match requests can be made on the form. • We have 27 spots open and we will look over the applications and then conduct interviews. • Need to submit an application online by September 12th.
Membership application and dues • Membership Application (required) – all chapter members, including peer buddies, buddies, associate members/buddies, and advisors, must submit an updated membership to bestbuddiesonline.org • Best Buddies online • Register as a New Member or a Returning Member • If you are a Returning Member don’t remember your login you can have bestbuddiesonline.org send you your login information. • There will be instructions on how to register on Mrs.Hale’s website under Best Buddies. • Dues are $25 • Checks need to be made out to Creekside High School (Please make sure the student’s name is on the memo line for the check) • Money needs to be in an envelope with your name, grade, lunch and shirt size on the front. • Turn dues into the box into room 145 before school. • All applications due by September 19th.
How to submit a check Pay to the order of: Creekside High School Make sure YOUR name is on the memo line Put in an envelope with YOUR NAME, T-SHIRT SIZE, AND LUNCH PERIOD on the outside Put in box in room 145 BEFORE SCHOOL or on Wednesdays during Café Creekside only
Attendance policy • 3 unexcused absences to activities or meetings and membership will be terminated • Excused absences include: • Sport team practices • Making up tests • Doctors Visits • Anything that can be excused with a valid note • You need to sign in at meetings and activities • Friends can’t sign in for you • Chelsea will be keeping track of attendance and will let the Advisors know if there is a problem.
Year at a glance • Meetings on the first Thursday of the month at 8:30/8:45 • Activities will be on Fridays during all three lunches • Café Creeksides • Special Olympics Activities • Friendship Ball in March • Friendship Walk in May
