Our village. Benešov. The first documentation about Benešov dates back to 1362. There used to be deep oak and spruce woods. That is why they are in our village emblem. There live about 7 houndred inhabitants now.

The first documentation about Benešov dates back to 1362. There used to be deep oak and spruce woods. That is why they are in our village emblem. There live about 7 houndred inhabitants now.
Our village is situated on the highest place of the Drahany Highlands between the tops of Paprč (721m) and Skalky (735m). Benešov has charming surroundings from the Nature Reserve of Pavlov´s wet grounds where you can see some of the protected flowers.
Church of Raising the St. Cross comes from the 18th century. It is protected as national cultural monument.
Cultural centre where people can spend their leasure time at balls, dancing parties, theathre performances or concerts.
We have own bakery where you can buy many delicious products. Open daily from 6.30 am to 8.00 pm. pekárna
Next to the bakery there is a Morava restaurant. Except having lunch here you can see an exhibition of pictures painted by local painters. .
Health care centre for our inhabitants and people from surrounging villages.
Our municipal hall with a local library and an internet room.
Are you lovers of horses? Then come to a stable in Pavlov. You can either watch hourses or ride them.
Near the village stands the Skalky radar which monitors the weather for the Czech Hydro-Meteorological Institute.
Our region attracts many tourists and cyclists. There are also good conditions for hiking and cross-counry skiing.
Our school was established 50 years ago. At present 123 pupils attend the school.
