School Wide Positive Behavior Support • Proactive approach to school behaviors • Students learn the behaviors expected of them from the Behavior Matrix – BE RESPONSIBLE, BE RESPECTFUL, and BE SAFE • Students are rewarded with Rush Roadrunner Tickets • If student is given a ticket, it goes on Principals 200 club board in atrium • First 10 students across, down, or diagonal wins a prize. • Card will come home with student if they receive a Rush Roadrunner Ticket • Ask you child about the Rush Roadrunner Ticket and why they earned this ticket! • Class DoJo = Karate Belts and Rewards • www.classdojo.com • Allows teachers and parents to communicate about behavioral expectations • Helps students to build life skills such as working hard, participating, following directions, helping others, etc. • Check it often and let me know how your child is doing at home! • Marble Jar = Classroom Parties • Class earns marbles for good behavior in Specials and compliments from other teachers
HOMEWORK Reading – Read 20 minutes EVERY night and record on home reading log – should be in students handwriting! Math – My Math Homework pages, Review Guides for Assessments Social Studies / Science – Review sheets, reading assignments or projects depending on the chapter PARENTS PLEASE SIGN HOMEWORK SHEET AND READING LOG EVERY NIGHT! THANKS!
BREAKFAST • Begins at 8:30 AM • SNACKS • Children can bring in TWOhealthy snacksto eat. One to eat in the morning and one at end of day during Dismissal. Peanut Free! • BIRTHDAYS • If you are sending in a treat for birthdays, we are asking as a second grade team for it to be something the students can use (e.g. Pencils, Erasers, stickers, etc.) due to food allergies. By no means is this a rule, but a suggestion. You may send in treats, but please make them individual size.
