  2. Compound Probability Compound probability: The actual probability of two or more events occurring. Found by multiplying the individual probabilities together.

  3. Example With Replacement You are drawing a card from a standard deck, putting it back, and then selecting another. What are your chances of drawing two Kings? Solution There are four Kings in a standard deck of cards. Your chances of drawing a king twice are:

  4. Another Example With Replacement You are picking a gumball from a sack. In the sack there are 4 red, 5 blue and 2 yellow gumballs. You pick one gumball, put it back, then pick again. What are your chances of drawing a red gumball and then a yellow?

  5. Example Without Replacement You are drawing a card from a standard deck, keeping it out, and then selecting another. What are your chances of drawing two Kings?

  6. Another Example Without Replacement You are picking a gumball from a sack. In the sack there are 4 red, 5 blue and 2 yellow gumballs. You pick one gumball, keep it out, then pick again. What are your chances of drawing a blue gumball and then a red? What are the chances of drawing a yellow, keeping it out, then drawing another yellow?
