HISTORY • Honey bees have been around before humans dating back to 5,500 B.C. • Honey bees originated from southeast Asia • 1622 European colonist brought honey bees to America • Honey was a great sweetener before sugar cane. • Honey bees are and still used today to pollinate crops in America.

  3. HEALTH Honey can also be braked down better then table sugar because of the sugars contained in honey are in a very simple predigested form and are directly absorbed by our body. Eating honey is better for people with diabetic conditions because it is less likely to cause blood sugar spike. Honey is also use full as a natural cough suppressant that works better then dextromethorphan (cough suppressant founded in most over-the-counter cold medications such as night quill) • Honey is a health substance that contains… • Complex sugars • Complex carbohydrates • Vitamins and minerals (which last longer then then most fruits and vegetables) • Many types of Amino Acids • Antioxidant Because honey contains the following it is very good to good for your skin and usually found in beauty products and moisturizers.

  7. Depletion of bees/honey • Honey bees are rapidly disappearing. The main causes are from mites, pathogens, bacteria, and other things invading the colonies. One of the main killers are C.C.D. ( colony collapse disorder ). This disorder is like a mite that gets inside the bees body and take a great toll on the insects body which causes them to die at a fast rate.
