  3. A Vision for NHS • Engagement • Respect • Ownership

  4. Engagement • Report to class on time and be involved at school. This means being ready to learn, work, and showing an interest in your education. Be an active and constructive participant in class and encourage others to do the same.

  5. Respect • Treat others as you would like to be treated. Follow directions and meet expectations. Constructively voice your opinion and strive to live with integrity. This includes being honest, empathetic, hard working, humble, compassionate, kind and forgiving.

  6. Ownership • Treat the school and the surrounding environment like it is your own. Do your work to the best of your ability. Take positive, proactive steps to improve the learning and social environment, while encouraging others to do the same.

  8. What is a tardy? • Tardy will be defined as failure to be in the threshold of the classroom door before the bell rings. Tardy Tardy caution PERFECT

  9. If you are tardy: • Put your ID card in the basket. Your teacher will mark your card as tardy. You will get your card back at the end of class, unless you have had 3 tardies. • If you forgot or lost your card, you will get a temporary card.

  10. What if you are tardy 3 times? • The teacher will take your card to an administrator who will deal with the issue.

  11. How will we celebrate success? • Weekly – a variety of prizes will be given out randomly to those who don’t have tardies (Qdoba, Dairy Queen, McDonald’s, NHS gear, candy, etc.) • End of semester – school-wide celebration with food, entertainment and prizes (assuming we make our goal)

  12. An invitation • If you would like to share your ideas or you have input, we would like to invite you to attend our North Being North meetings. We are always looking for student voices. See Mr. Thennes for meeting dates.
