  6. Workshop Schedule RW Opening Activity: Review “Cupid & Psyche” by answering the following CRITICAL THINKING questions. RW Mini-Lesson: Introduce archetypes; identify examples in “Cupid & Psyche”; complete a chart. RW Student Activity: Read “Ashputtle”; identify examples of archetypes. RW Closure: Share findings with group; add to notes. WW Opening Activity: EBSR: how does Disney’s Cinderella draw from … WW Mini-Lesson: How to write effective sentences. WW Student Activity: Continue drafting literary essay. WW Opening Activity: Share with a partner; use essay checklist.

  10. Avid Reader Moderate Reader Testimonials Non-reader Alia read the Pilgrim’s Progress for our Allusion Unit. Isaiah loved the graphic versions of Beowulf & Frankenstein. Banias re-read Mockingjay. Te’Nel still stops by to recommend books. Courtney prepares his peers before the beginning of a new semester by saying, “I never read so many books in my life!” SMH … I recommended The Contender to Thomas; he then picked up The Brave. Sierra still uses the post-it method. Khalim braved The Wonderful Wizard of Oz for our Allusion Unit. Jamie read The 5 People You Meet in Heaven; then she picked up Tuesday’s with Morrie.
