  2. La luz de Venecia en el siglo XVIII Giovanni Antonio Canal “ Canaletto” (1697 – 1768)‏

Canaletto nació en Venecia y aunque en sus inicios es un pintor barroco, su pintura lentamente se va haciendo más luminosa para desembocar en un realismo transparente, dentro del vedutismo, que insinúa el romanticismo. Su perspectiva atrae los elementos que configuran la escena y los envuelve en una atmósfera húmeda y etérea. Todos los rincones venecianos aparecen reflejados en los lienzos de Canaletto, que en 1746 se traslada a Inglaterra, dónde durante diez años se dedica a pintar vistas de Londres, albergando la Royal Collection británica la mayoría de sus obras.
