  5. Apple Lisa • Based on Alto Computer • First computer with a GUI • Failed because of high price and because of limited software options

  6. Apple Macintosh • Offered the LaserWriter printer • Offered desktop publishing • Offered advanced graphics • Sold better than Lisa

  7. Apple Macintosh Portable • Introduced in 1989 • Bulky and Large • Very unsuccessful at time of introduction

  8. Apple PowerBook 100 • Sony created this from the specs of the Mac Portable and made it smaller • 20 MB hard drive • 9 in Passive Matrix Screen • System 7 Mac OS

  9. Apple Quicktake Digital Camera • Released in 1997 • One of the first digital cameras • Very unsuccessful

  10. Apple Power Macintosh Line • Attempt to regain a position in the competitive computer market • Used IBMs Power PC Processor • OS rewritten so that older Mac’s could still run on these programs

  11. Apple iMac • Great leap in sales for Apple • Provided one of the best fiscal years since 1993 • Allowed for digital video • Inspired iMovie and iDvd

  12. Apple iPod • November 10, 2001 • Apple’s first digital audio player • Introduced the itunes store to download compatable iPod music

  13. Apple MacBook Pro and New iMac • January 10, 2006 • New notebook computer • Four times faster than the powerbook models • iMac with 2 or 3 times faster performance
