How do you test your fitness in swimming? • A. Describe all 4 tests, explaining what fitness element was analysed in each one. 1. 16 Length Timed Swim (CVE & why it tests CVE) 2. T5 Swim Test (Speed Endurance & why it tests S.End. ) 3. 50m Timed Swim (Speed & why it tests Speed) 4. 200m Endurance Swim (CVE & why it tests CVE) • Who timed you? Did you use a stop watch? Where was it done?

  3. Detailed info on what the 4 tests told you about your whole performance. Identify strengths & weaknesses that were obtained from each method. i.e.. Felt comfortable / tired / technique deteriorated / pacing- good? Not good? 16 length swim (steady paced ?/ had to stop?) T5: Pacing /fatigue/co-ordination / base speed 50m timed: arm cycles/breaths/time 200m Endurance: Pacing?/ Heart rate?/ technique? b. What is your main weakness ? CVE? Speed Endurance? Speed? LME? How will you improve this? Ie. Make up a training programme. 8 weeks / 45 min sessions/ 2-3x a week Use various methods of training (interval/continuous) Working at correct level– Overload! Which would…….. Question 2:As a result of analysing your data, give an explanation of your (a) Strengths and weaknesses & (b) Development needs
