  12. What Can We Do To Decrease Water Pollution? Remember when you recorded your ideas about how we can decrease water pollution? Well, we will now be discussing those ideas! We need to be informed, responsible, and involved when it comes to protecting our water. We can become familiar with our local water resources and learn about for disposing of harmful, household wastes and chemicals so that they don’t end up back in our water supply or in lakes and rivers where they can harm aquatic life. In our everyday lives we can do a lot to minimize water pollution if we RECYCLE. If we take care of our trash where it belongs, it is less likely to wind up in our streams and rivers. We can also minimize water pollution by letting other people know that we need to keep our water clean. We should preserve existing trees and plant new ones to help prevent soil erosion, which can pollute water. You may go on to the next slide.

  13. Quiz Time… You have done such a nice job taking notes and visiting the websites in this lesson. Now you get a chance to quiz yourself about what we learned about Water Pollution. Please go on to the next slide.

  14. Here it is… Here you can take this quiz, write down your answers in your Water Journal. If you get stuck on a question you can refer to your notes. Check your answers on the following slide. Don’t peek until you are finished! Can you define water pollution? What can YOU do to decrease water pollution? Give 2 examples. Can you give 2 effects of water pollution? What are the sources of water pollution? Can you think of two examples of water pollution? Go on to the next slide to check your answers.
