1. LICENSING INFORMATION Whether you are doing a new installation of ArcGIS 10.2, or upgrading to the latest version, you MUST contact your Regional GIS Contact to let that person know that you wish to obtain or upgrade ArcGIS. Find your GIS Contact here: https://fishnet.fws.doi.net/projects/gisnew/gisinfo/SitePages/Contacts.aspx Provide your GIS Contact with: 1. Your Org Code 2. First Name 3. Last Name 4: Title 5. Phone 6. Email 7. Address (including city, state and ZIP code) 8. Install Type (New Install, or upgrade from older product on this computer?) 9. License Mode (Will this computer always be connected to the network, or will it be disconnected from time to time?) 10. Host Name (computer name) 11. Operating System 12. Any additional comments Once your license is processed, you will be emailed a provisioning file (.prvs). Save this to your computer in a new folder called C:\ArcGIS_10_2_License ArcGIS Desktop 10.2 Installation Guide
2. NOTES AND RESOURCES IMPORTANT: With the release of ArcGIS Desktop 10.2, ESRI now allows you to install directly over an existing instance of ArcGIS Desktop 10.1; this preserves your extensions, tools, license settings and other components of your existing 10.1 installation. If you currently have ArcGIS 10.1, please refer to our Installation Guide “Installing 10.2 over 10.1” found here. If installing GIS for the first time or replacing a version older than 10.1, please continue reading... Note: Please contact your Regional GIS Contact to update your license information in the Enterprise Licensing Info System (ELIS). Inform them if you are upgrading to 10.2, or installing Desktop for the firsttime. Your Regional GIS Contact will then provide you with a license file if needed. Note: This manual installation is the only option if Apps to Go and/or the Automation Script do not work. This is also the only option if you do not currently have ArcGIS Desktop on your computer or if you have versions earlier than Desktop 10.1. CONCURRENT USE (setup license server) sets up concurrent use licensing and includes the setup of a license manager as well as a local machine-specific license. The computer should be configured to contact the two USFWS National License servers first and - as a third measure - the machine’s local license as a back-up in case network connectivity is lost or for laptops used out in the field off-of-network.
