  2. Santa Maria in Campitelli is a small churchnear the Capitoline hill. It was built to housean icon that is said to have saved Rome froma plague in 1656. The icon is in a shrine withGloria (at right), designed by Melchiorre Cafaand completed by Ercole Ferrata.
