  3. Circulatory System • Closed circulatory system • All blood is contained in blood vessels. • Have “hearts” that pump.

  4. Digestive System • Filter feeders • Get nutrients from digging in soil. • Complete digestive system • Mouth  Anus

  5. Respiratory System Exchange oxygen & carbon dioxide through skin.

  6. Nervous System Small brain Long nerve cord

  7. Reproductive System • Hermaphrodites • Make egg and sperm • Lay eggs

  8. Insects • Invertebrates • All insects have 3 body segments • Head, Thorax, Abdomen • All insects have an exoskeleton • Examples: Flies, Mosquitoes, Crickets, Butterflies

  9. Circulatory System • Open circulatory system • Blood is not in vessels

  10. Digestive System Special mouthparts Complete digestive system

  11. Respiratory System Have small holes in exoskeleton for oxygen and carbon dioxide to go in & out. Some lungs

  12. Nervous System Small brain Nerve cord Nerves in each segment

  13. Reproductive System Internal fertilization Lay eggs Undergo metamorphosis
