On line e-government site • On line site proposes to strengthen e-government informative, communicational and transactional services. • On line public services will connect citizens with public institutions. • It is a unique tool to build inter governmental relations as well to support state control management. • E-government site will open opportunities for Costa Rica to participate in knowledge society.
Project main objectives • Overall solution: Costa Rican government requires an overall solution based on ICT in order to supportits administrative management. • Inter institutional relations: the Government must count on computer systems to be more efficient to citizens • Access to services: Costa Ricans are demanding ICT based solutions to reduce row time and to access on line information about public services. • Tool for education: For more than 15 years Costa Rica has had an on going project using computers for educational purposes in elementary schools and high schools.

E-Government site Information levels: • General content: A single joining point where users can find information coming from government offices. • Authentication and customized content (first level services): A safe site where citizens identify themselves once and have a particular access to information and services. • Basic tools and services (second level services): Interactive tools for managing integrated information services from several offices. • Vertical applications (third level services): Applications and computer systems to improve governmental activities on specific areas.
