  3. We don’t have to whisper…God knows about Love and Sex!

  4. The 10 Commandments • 1st 4 are towards God • “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength” • Last 6 are toward our fellow man • “Love your neighbour as yourself”

  5. Marriage • It is a life time commitment • The trend towards a high divorce rate is older than Moses!

  6. The Designer: • “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” • Creator God – very smart and very powerful! • “Let us make man in our image, and after our likeness” • Triune God…and we are made in His image! • “Adam…where are you?” • Relational God • A God who is to be worshipped…Abel’s offering. • Covenant Making God…I will never again destroy the earth with a flood. • A God who hates sin, but is patient, and who provides a way of escape. – Noah

  7. The Design: • Man is better off with a partner: • Who is equal but different…bone of my bone…flesh of my flesh…same species…same intelligence…but counterbalancing… • One Man, One Woman: • Monogamous • Become one flesh…the physical union in intercourse is both symbolic and in itself uniting at physical, emotional and spiritual levels. • The plan is to leave and cleave…and Jesus said “What God has joined together let not man put asunder.”

  8. Executing the Plan • One man, one woman…both virgins • Enter into a legally binding Marriage Covenant before God and man • Enjoy a life time of true love that includes sexual intimacy • Babies are made! • These babies grow up in a secure home ruled by love…and they are taught the Word of God

  9. What are you thinking? • Darkness: • Futile Thinking – we are wise enough to reject external authority/wisdom and to make our own choices • Darkened in Understanding – Condoms and Abortion solve the problem! • Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity with a continual lust for more! • Light: • Truth is in Jesus – “you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” • Created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (made in His image…like Him…designed to be true, covenant keeping, law abiding, loving sacrificially • THAT IS WHAT YOU WERE DESIGNED TO BE LIKE!

What is God thinking? • Be imitators of God! • Live a life of love…not the self centered type but just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God • There should not even be a HINT of sexual immorality – flee fornication • Expose wickedness • Be careful with alcohol! • Husbands, Love your wives!

  11. Grace Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 The Blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses us from ALL sin. 1 John 1:7

Our Benediction •  What does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?  To the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it. • Deuteronomy 10:12-14
