  1. Miss Johnson’s Class News 9/8/2014 Dear Parents/ Guardians, We had such an amazing few days getting to know each other and exploring our classroom! We even became real reporters and interviewed partners to learn more about the friends in our class. On Monday September 8th, we will be starting our Journeys and Everyday Math program! Please be sure to check and sign your child’s planner every night as we guide our students to be independent and responsible learners! Miss Johnson • September Birthdays • Star student Veronica What we are learning: Journeys: Writing: Narratives Grammar: Subjects and Predicates Phonics: Short vowels Math: exploring patterns on number grids, telling time, measuring lengths, using calculators, making predications, and giving equivalent names for numbers. Social Studies: 9/11; Heroes
