Who did the Great Fire of London Effect? The Great Fire effected pretty much everyone; people had to go on boats across the Thames; away from their burning houses. Along the riverfront lots of war veterans’ had black powder in their houses’ and around five to six hundred tonnes of black powder was in the Tower of London.

When did the Great Fire happen? The Great Fire started on Sunday, 2nd of September to Wednesday, 5th September 1666. The city pattern was essentially medieval but every church did, by law had ladders, buckets, axes and firehooks for pulling buildings down. These resources were applicable to anyone who saw a house on fire. They were reliant on firebreaks (controlled gunpowder explosions). At that point in time there were about a thousand ‘bellmen’ (watchmen) roaming the streets to make sure everyone was faring well.
Why did the Great Fire Happen? The great fire happened because Thomas Farynor was careless. It might be possible that he did put out the fire but he still did not follow the rule: When you make a fire you should always put it out before you go to sleep and before you go to bed the coals should be cool enough for your hand to be comfortably on top of them.
