  1. The Mostly True Adventures Homer P. Figg Written By: Rodman PhilBrick

  2. Genre The genre of this book is Realistic Fiction. It tells mostly true events that could have happened. During the time it took place in. Like it has a real event and date. but the characters aren’t real. Unless the have part of a real name but some of its not always true.

  3. The Main Idea I think the main idea of the book is to show the reader that during the civil war people died people lived. Also that some people were forced into war. Sometimes they were lied on Because they were hated or something. (Like Harold Homers brother who’s uncle squint Lied on him.) Homer needs to find him so he tries hard and that may be the main idea.

  4. The book mostly takes place in the woods or a Quaker house rather than his home. Homer is trying to find his brother before the war so he's careful not to stay in one place for long. But he also goes on a crew ship and he rides by horse to the woods. The book mostly takes place in the woods. Ora Quaker house rather than his home. Homer is trying to find his brother. before the war so he's careful not to stay in one place for long. But he also goes on a crew ship. He rides by horse to the woods but it gets lost. The ship was difficult. But not as difficult as the woods. But now Homer can tell the story like it really happened. Homer meets Brewster's cook. She feeds him and he asks to be his guardian but homer says he will only run away. The book mostly takes place in the woods. or a Quaker house rather than his home. 5. The main problem is that Homers brother Harold is sold into the army but is only 17 and you have to be 20. His uncle Squint lies on Harold because he defended himself and Homer. now Homer has to go and find him before its to late. They try to solve the problem by Harold takes his punishment but its only because he wants to be away from Homer and not be in charge of him any more. But Homer knows that but he wants to find him before he dies.So he sneaks off to find him but goes through all these challenges like stealing they’re horse at night . Then losing the horse and being jumped. Then living on a Quaker farm with Mister Brewster. Then on the ship then The Nibblys & Mr. Willow and Mr. Fleabottom stole some money and sold Homer with the pigs. Then he sees the war and he breaks free on a horse into the war and survives thinking Harold is there dying. But then later they find out Harold is a mutineer. Which means he last to come in to die because he didn’t follow directions and gets a black eye. Harold ends up shot in the leg by a pebble because the flag boy dies and he picks the flag up and holds it up but everybody's aiming at him. So Homer shoots him with a pebble. Which later resolves to cutting his leg off but then he drops the flag but Homer picks up[ trying to let go but cant. He was asked why almost a hundred times but he didn’t know why. Homer and Harold survived the war but later he was dismissed from the army when they found out about his age. He asked to come back if they needed help but they never were in need. The lived happily ever after on the Quaker field and mines with mister Brewster they’re new guardians. THE PLOT

  6. I think the author wrote this book to tell the events that acquired during the civil war. But it’s a realistic fiction book. So it has a purpose to show you events. That could have happened. To certain peoplebecause they could have been good people with a bad life but still were lied on. No one will know why they did it they just did probably. Author Purpose
