“It is a wise father that knows his own child.” • Married Anne Hathaway on November 28, 1582 • William was 18 at the time, and Anne was 26—and pregnant. • Susanna born May 26, 1583. • Hamnetand Judith born February 2, 1585 • Baptized at same church as William • Hamnetdied at 11 on August 11, 1596 • “Lost Years” took place for 7 years after twins’ birth • Very controversial • May have fled Stratford after poaching incident • May have worked as an assistant schoolmaster in Lancashire
