  1. Gold and about it BY:CESAR MELGOZA Gold, the San Francisco treat

  2. What gold looks like • As you can see in the picture above the color gold is like a metallic yellow.

  3. Use of gold • Gold is used in jewelry • Gold is used as a reflector like for astronauts ,they wear gold coated visors to reflect solar radiation • It is used in dental work such as crowns • It is also used in coinage

  4. What gold is worth • Gold is worth a lot of money and I know that because the explorers in California started the “Gold Rush.” • The $50 American Gold Eagle coin is worth $1,007.

  5. how precious is gold • Gold is one of the most precious things to find • Unlike Diamond Gold is not a gem • Gold is a metal

  6. Compounds in gold • The characteristic oxidation states of gold are +1 (aurous compounds) and +3 (auric compounds). Gold is more easily displaced from solution by reduction than any other metal; even platinum will reduce Au3+ ions to metallic gold. • Among the relatively few gold compounds of practical importance are gold chloride, AuCl; gold trichloride, AuCl3; and chlorauric acid, HAuCl4. In the first compound gold is in the +1 oxidation state, and in the latter two, the +3 state. All three compounds are involved in the electrolytic refining of gold. Potassium cyanoaurate is the basis for most gold-plating baths (the solution employed when gold is plated). Several organic compounds of gold have industrial applications. For example, gold mercaptides, which are obtained from sulfurized terpenes, are dissolved in certain organic solutions and used for decorating china and glass articles

  7. Great gold facts • 1.The symbol for gold is Au • The atomic number is 196.665 • The number of Protons are 79 • The number of Neutrons are 79 • The numbers of Electrons are 79 • The melting point is 1064.18 oC, 1337.33  K • The boiling point is 1064.18 oC, 1337.33  K
