  2. Directions • AFTER you have read the RULES for placement of participial phrases and completed Ex. 7 and 8, work with your partner to check your answers. If you do not have the correct answer to one of the sentences, REREAD the RULES to understand the correct answer.

  3. Exercise 7 • 1. Bending down to get a closer look, we saw one of the shells crawl away.
