  1. 26 September 2017 • Good Afternoon! • Objective: I will be able to point out the plot of a story and understand the five stages of plot. • Take out a piece of paperand awriting utensil • On the piece of paper write down • A properMLA heading • Write 6-10 sentencesabout the plot of an episode of your favorite T.V. show. You have5minutes.

  3. Plot- The series ofeventsthat make up a story. There are fivestages.

  4. Climax The FIVE Stages of Plot Rising Action Falling Action Exposition Resolution

  5. Exposition Setting Characters Conflict • Here, the author introduces the:

  6. Rising Action Obstacles/complications • The part of the story that introduces the: And builds: Suspense

  7. Climax • The turning point in the story. In this part of the story, the conflict is at its most intense.

  8. Falling Action • The part of the story where the author reveals the outcome of the climax. It also eases the tension andshows how the conflict is resolved.

  9. Resolution • The part of the story that revealsthe final outcome andties up loose ends.

  10. With your shoulder partner:Partner 1.) Tell the definitions of each of the five stages of plot. Partner 2.) What makes a good plot? What makes a bad plot?

  11. 5 Stages Of The Plot Exposition-Start of the story, includes setting and characters. the situation before the action starts. Rising Action- Series of conflicts in the story that lead to the climax. Climax- The turning point, the most intense moment (in action or mentally), the most important part of the plot. Falling ActionAll of the action/events that happen after the climax. Resolution-The conclusion, the end. Where all questions are answered, all loose ends are tied together.

  14. Exit Ticket On thesame paperthat you wrote down your bellwork on, Re-write about the plotof your favorite t.v. Show. Make sure toinclude the 5 partsof a plot. You may either write out a paragraph, or list the parts of the plot and the example from your t.v. show. Turn in this paperto the bin before you leave! Have a great day!!!
