What is a Apothecary? A Apothecary is a historical name for a medical professional who formulates and dispenses medicine to physicians, surgeons, and patients. Basically it is like a doctors office and pharmacy.
What Apothecaries do and sell We sell tobacco, vermicelli, cooking spices, salad oil, anchovies, and toothbrushes, French chalk for taking grease out of silks and fine cloths, candles, spices, sugar and medicine. We provide general medical advice, surgery, labor, and wounded people. Some diseases they treated were Black Death, Bloody Sweat, and Dropsy of the Brain.
Daily Life in the Apothecary Daily life in the Apothecary is not simple. We make house calls to treat patients, prescribe medicines. We treat labors and wounded people. In our spare time we cook, clean, wash our dresses, and spend time together.
The End Any Questions??
