dramatic monologue: a poem uttered by a speaker who is clearly identified as someone other than the poet, speaking in a specific fictionalized situation, usually to an auditor; which usually reveals character of the speaker • auditor: a more or less clearly defined, fictionalized person who is listening to the speaker within a particular fictionalized context
