  2. Hello! Welcome!

  3. Welcome to “The Most Dangerous Game”! The objective of this game is to survive the dangerous jungle on Ship-Trap Island by answering the given questions correctly without falling into my traps. You will be asked to identify literary devices, as well as, finding the correct answer to the given plot event questions. Each section will have specific directions to follow. To answer the questions correctly, you will use critical thinking strategies and comprehension skills to answer the questions correctly. Ready to play?

  4. Background Setting (The Most Dangerous Game: Richard Connell) In the middle of the night, Rainsford falls off his boat, trying to catch the pipe that he dropped in the blood-warm waters. After fighting with the sea vigorously, he finds himself on Ship-Trap Island. Immediately, he searches for civilization; he comes across a large chateau with a gargoyle used as a knocker. In need of desperate food and rest, Rainsford knocks on the door. A large man opens the door, says nothing, and points his revolver at Rainsford. Down the stairwell, a man named General Zaroff greeted Rainsford. He was an affablecosmopolite. Zaroff tells Rainsford of how a zealous hunter he is. He boasts by saying he always catches his quarry. However, hunting animals bored Zaroff; he hunts humans. Knowing that Rainsford enjoys hunting as much as he does, Zaroff invites Rainsford to hunt with him. Rainsford’s scruples stop him from hunting humans so he declined the invite. Furious, Zaroff becomes unhappy with Rainsford’s decision and decides that he will hunt Rainsford. Can you help Rainsford?
