Uniforms – ODU – Tucked (Phasing Out) • Overview: • CG Blue ODU tucked Pants • CG Blue ODU tucked Shirt • CG Black ODU Belt or Riggers Belt • Aux Ball Cap • Name Tape • USCGA Tape • COX Qualification Tape (if earned) • Sew on member or office insignia (Black A) • Single Collar insignia or member device on Cap • Black Socks • CG Blue T-Shirt • Black Steel Toe Safety Boots • Blousers • Outerwear : Windbreaker, Parka • Maybe worn with sleeves rolled up accordion style with only the cuff showing, or with sleeves down. • If rolled, the cuff should be approximately 2” above the elbow (mid-bicep).

Female Overblouse Dress Shirt Air Force (AF) Women's Overblouse. This optional alternative to the Light Blue Short-Sleeve Dress Shirt is worn with the Tropical Blue Long uniform only. Name tags and ribbons should be worn in the same approximate position as would be worn on a properly fitting Light Blue shirtwith pockets. See ALCOAST 531/08 for further details.

General Tips • Belts • Align the right side of the buckle with the right side of the uniform’s buttons and zipper. “Gig Line” • ODU- Rigger (Better Belt) – wear it inside out. • ODU belt is run right to left. • Clip to the correct length. • Footwear • Shoes :Bates – patent leather synthetic • Boots: Bates – quick release (the kind with a zipper) • Wearing Ribbons and Qualifications • Check the ribbon checker • Wear a backing – Vanguard Standouts or just plain cardboard. • Blousers • Get the Velcro kind
Covers • Ball Cap – CGAUX only – Office/Member insignia in the middle • Garrison Cap: Aux insignia on left, Office/Member insignia on left - 2”back,1 ½” up • Combination Cap: note- Silver Chin Strap • Wear them straight and parallel to the ground.
Shoulder Boards and Insignia • Shoulder Boards: • What’s with the colored “A” • Member – silver shield • Elected – Blue “A” • Appointed – Red “A” • ODU – Black “A” • Soft SB: Trops, Service Dress, Blue, Wooley Pulley • Enhanced SB: Trops, Wooley Pulley • Hard SB: “White” uniforms • Insignia and Ribbons • Medals, Ribbons and Qualifications on the Left(One exception only – Dinner Dress awards with no medals to the Right) • Name to the Right • No Tie – Align with collar points • Tie – Align with collar edge
Outerwear • Windbreaker, with or without liner: (Large Insignia) • Trench Coat: (Large Insignia) • All-Weather Parka, Type I (old) or II (new): (Flap Insignia) • Wooly Pulley Sweater: (Soft or Enhanced Shoulder Boards) • Cardigan Sweater:
Grooming: Hair/Facial Hair • Male: • Trimmed, neat. No square back. Must not touch shirt collar. • Beard: Trimmed neatly. No longer than 1 inch. If longer, must be tucked under chin as to be not so noticeable. • Beards and mustaches must not interfere with the operation of safety/survival gear. These may prohibit participation in certain operational missions as deemed necessary by DIRAUX. • Female: • Neatly coiffed. 2” at highest point on head. Must not touch shirt collar. • Ponytail if worn, must be one strand and must not touch collar. Must not obstruct proper seating of Cover on head. Tuck in if possible or change styling. Bangs must not touch eyebrows.
Self-Presentation • Hair Coloring • Only natural, basic colors are permitted. • Jewelry • Watches, rings (basic, avoid the ostentatious). • No necklaces or chains. • One pair ¼” round stud earrings (Females only). • Religious Headwear • Religious headwear is not to interfere with proper Auxiliary Cover. Must not be visible. Must conform with hair color. • Religious Artifacts • Must not be visible.
