HIGH TIDE NOVEL STUDY BY ANNA MACKENZIE Presentation by Jaime Reeve
FRIENDSHIP AND LOYALTY In the novel high tide by Anna Mackenzie an important theme is friendship and loyalty because the characters involved have to band together and work together to get through their time of crisis. so to get through they have to rely on each other and befriend those they thought they wouldn’t normally be friends with.
A DEFINITION OF FRIENDSHIP A person known well to another and regarded with liking, affection, loyalty and trust
Characters who represent friendship and loyalty Charlotte Cornelius Hannah Sam Jake Kahui martin
THREE QUOTES THAT REPRESENT FRIENDSHIP AND LOYALTY • I looked at him in amazement. “If anyone should stay behind here, it’s you. I haven’t just walked eighty k. And besides,” I added not wanting him to feel he had something to prove, “I want to see how charlotte’s doing.” • I felt a wave of relief at seeing him, but I also felt uncomfortable, like we’d been caught out at something. And straight off I was wondering why Kahui had come looking for us. Maybe... “how’s Charlotte?” Kahui didn’t answer. • “Thanks,” she said, “for everything. Hannah told me.” I didn’t know what to say. “everyone was great. I’m glad your okay.” She cried again, trying not to.
SUMMARY In the novel HIGH TIDE by ANNA MACKENZIE an important theme is friendship and loyalty because if they didn’t become friends or weren’t loyal to each other they might not have made it out of there with charlotte. So they had to come together and help each other survive for example they had to help each other out to get charlotte out of the cave by the water. So I think the theme friendship and loyalty is an important theme because if they didn’t befriend each other more lives might have been lost.
