  2. Goal • Help physical therapist to accomplish the necessary treatments to reduce symptoms and maximize the function of all patients to overcome injury/illness

  4. Treatment Table • Description: A strong table that has a weight capacity of 500 lbs. Used for patients to sit/lay on to receive treatment by physical therapists. • Cost: $299

  5. Treatment Table Cont. • Source: Source 1 Medical • Use/Value: necessary for patients to be comfortable when they are receiving treatments; also used for patients to be evaluated by physical therapists/professionals

  6. Electronic Stimulation • Description: Used on patients after injury or surgery. Electrical currents are used to create muscle contraction, to increase strength and prevent atrophy, through nerve or muscle stimulation

  7. Electric Stimulation Cont. • Cost: $2,145 • Source: Banner Therapy Products • Use/Value: very important for patients who went through an injury/surgery to use electronic stimulation so their muscles do not atrophy by causing them to contract (strengthening)

  8. Therapeutic Ultrasound • Description: Alternates compression and rarefaction of sound waves with a frequency of >20,000 cycles per second • Cost: $1,489

  10. Thera-Bands • Description: Used as tools for rehabilitating and restoring muscle joint functions; each color is a different resistance • Cost: $9.30 for 6 yards • Source: Hygenic (manufacturer)

  11. Thera-Bands Cont. • Use/Value: used for patients, athletes, others who are looking to improve their strength, balance, and flexibility

  13. Sports Information Technology Software • This program can be used by Physical Therapists and other health professions to keep track of their patients/athletes’ scheduling, payments, progress, what they have done, and what they should do in their next session
