Pre 1800 People in the Pre-1800’s made contact by... • Telescope, in 1653 the first Telescope was invented in England, this enabled a lot of Optical Signal Systems for communication. • Pigeon Post, was a way of communicating with people in other countries to send important messages, Genghis Khan use homing pigeons to send swift news about each new quest to his home Mongolia. • Printing, the first Printing Press was founded in 1464 at the town of Subiacoin central Italy, it was used for news papers and ways of communications by sending letters and writing messages.
1800 People in the 1800 communicated by... • Telegraph, sends messages through electric current pulses, usually in Morse code. The first prototype of the telegraph was in 1830 designed by Joseph Henry, on May 1st 1844 the first official Telegraph was sent. • Telephone, the device that has been used for 125 years however the telephone invented in 1844 was a lot more different to what we have now.
1900-1950 People in the 1950’s made communicati0n by... • Television, was commercially available in the late 1920’s for the public to purchase, television shows were broadcasted for all of the world to watch, News and global issues were on television to inform the public. • Radio, transmission of signals by frequencies and was used to listen to news and global issue. The original model of the radio was commercially available in 1930 and was large and bulky compared to the transistor pocket radio released in 1954. In the early 1900’s aircrafts used AM commercial radio stations for navigation.
1950-1999 • Mobile Phone, was invented in 1970’s and was a lot bulkier and bigger and wasn’t popular because it was very expensive to use. In the 1990’s the mobile phone was modified and was smaller and lighter to carry and the cost was reduced. • Land-Line Telephones, were reduced in sized and more user friendly compared to the first models in the mid 1800’s however they were on a cord and were not wireless and be able to walk around using the telephone. • Fax Machines, used to send documents and letter by telephone lines and were a easier way to send rather than the post, they’re first used in the 1980’s. Fax Machines were in further development of the telegram or telegraph and was a huge development in technology and communication.
2000-2011 Present Day • Cell Phones, have evolved through time and currently they are light portable and durable and inexpensive to use with texts and calls. • Social Networking, Bebo, Facebook , MSN, Skype, Twitter, these all are used to communicate with people around the country and world. • Emails, invented in the early 1980 email has been used massively in daily life used for communication with people all around the world, Email is quick and really easy and almost instant. • Internet, is most commonly everyday to look up information, social networking and games. It is used to connect with people around the entire world and comment and think about large global issues and news.
