  3. Credits • ArcGIS Online Entitlements • One Named User per ArcGIS for Desktop license • 100Credits per ArcGIS for Desktop license • Credits renew with maintenance schedule (1yr) • Additional purchased credits are good for 2 years

  4. Credit Usage • Credits used for Storage are the best • Tile Generation and Geocoding

  5. Credit Calculations • Hard to estimate • Testing • Replacing • Collecting • Analytics • …changes daily/hourly • So watch daily credit consumption and adjust accordingly

  6. Publishing Techniques To save your credits!

  7. Hosted Service Types • Map Notes • Very small number of features or labels • Feature Collections • <1,000 Features • Hosted Feature Services • As it grows performance will slow • Max records for display = 1,000 • Can use for complex labels* • Tiled Services • Added through Tile Packages!

  8. NEVER* Publish as Tiled Mapping! • *only use this option if you need a tiled service immediately and you don’t have ArcGIS Server

  9. Make and share a Tile Package • Uses your desktop to create tiles • Only uses storage credits • Enable Runtime Tools • Set your Extent • Share as Tile Package • Image format tips • Publish Tile Package

  10. Publishing Large Datasets - Limitations • Add Item – AGO Web Interface • Limited to 1GB • Desktop publishing • Fails to publish “Packaging succeeded but publishing failed”

  11. Publishing Large FS Datasets • Stage as Service Definition • Upload Service Definition GP Tool

  12. Exporting Large Data • Create Replica from REST endpoint • Separate the layers that you want with a comma "0,1,2...“ • Set geometry type • Be sure to set "Return Attachments" to True • Sync Model to "None“ • Data format to "FileGDB"
