Support Programs • Academic support programs range from the Effective Writing Centre, which helps students develop their writing skills to the Student Rights Advisor who helps students who believe their rights have been violated. • Personal support programs range from Counseling Services (Each term, every student gets three free counseling sessions with a psychologist) to the Safewalk program that assigns a volunteer to a student who feels unsafe walking on the campus at night.

Food and Accommodation • Accommodation • On Campus: The Residence Complex accommodates 1500 students. • Off Campus: Many Students choose to live off campus. However, keep in mind that you should make sure your accommodation is not too far from the U of C because the public transportation system is Calgary is not as good as it is in Prague. • Food • There are three meal plans, which are optional. If you purchase a meal plan, meals can be purchased from 12 different venues on campus. • There are many restaurants, cafes, and fast food restaurants on campus.
Campus Recreation, entertainment, and other services • The U of C’s athletic facilities include a speed skating rink, a fitness centre, a swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, and hockey rinks. Admission to all of these facilities is included in tuition fees. • The U of C has a bar, which is converted into a club on Thursday nights. • The U of C has man venues where fine arts, including concerts, theatre, and art shows, are showcased. • The U of C offers several other services, like a clinic and a pharmacy. • There are several libraries and computer labs on campus. During the week, the Information Commons, a large computer lab, is open 24 hours per day.
Transportation • Each term, every student receives a Calgary Transit Pass from the Campus Ticket Centre. • There is one LRT (tram) stop and many bus stops on campus. • You can get virtually everywhere in the city using public transit. However, many buses are infrequent.
