  2. Be Careful. …The Black Widow Spider is deadly! • A black widow’s bite could make a human stop breathing! • Black widows are arachnids . • The females are bigger than the males.

  3. What Do They Eat? • Black widows eat insects . • They wait for the insects to fly or crawl into their sticky web. • They bite it with venom and suck the insect dry.

  4. Babies • The black widow lays its eggs in a white or other colored egg case that she has made. • The mother guards the egg case until they hatch. • Once they hatch, they are on their own.

  5. Body Parts of A Black Widow • I am a black widow. • I have 2 body parts. My whole body is toxic. • You had better watch out. • I am one half inch long.

  6. A Female Black Widow We went to Florida. It was hot! We went to the hotel. I went out to the porch and I saw a female black widow! It was so scary! So we just left it alone.
