THREE KEY CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRULY OBEDIENT HEART • God accomplishes His purpose through His grace and our obedience. • Let us remember THREE CHARACTERISTICS of a truly obedient heart. For God is at work within you, helping you want to obey him, and then helping you do what he wants. Philippians 2:12-13 [LB]
THREE KEY CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRULY OBEDIENT HEART 1) It immediately seeks His WISDOM to accomplish His purpose. 13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.” (vs.1-4)
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5 [NIV]
THREE KEY CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRULY OBEDIENT HEART 2) It ruthlessly seeks His APPROVAL to find peace in your heart. 15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”(vs.1-4)

THREE KEY CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRULY OBEDIENT HEART 3) It consistently seeks His POWER to overcome evil. 17Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19and after taking some food, he regained his strength. (vs.17-19)
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
