Scenario Three intermodal (DOT Spec 51) tanks containing ammonia are leaking after they were unloaded at their destination facility. Three Rivers Filtration Plant at 1100 Griswold Dr reported that the tanks were all full with approximately 5000 gallons with an internal pressure of 250 psi and after the trailer swiped them there is a 2” x 10” gash in the middle of each tank with vapor escaping. The approximate size of the tanks is 8’ x 20’. Plot a plume using current weather conditions to identify the initial isolation area based on IDLH of ammonia.
