What is CamTESOL? • CamTESOLis a BIG conference for people interested in teaching English. • There are many presentations and workshops about ELT. • There are local presenters from Cambodia, and there are also internationally famous researchers who present at the conference.
Who goes to CamTESOL? • Teacher trainees, teachers, teacher trainers, professors, publishers, public officials • Last year about 1,600 people from more than 30 countries attended CamTESOL.
What can I do at CamTESOL? • You can attend workshops. • You can meet English teachers from Cambodia and many other countries. • You can visit the publishers’ booths to look at new English books.
Assisting with Orientation of Provincial Trainers • The day before the conference, you will be helping the teacher trainees visiting from the provinces to register and get oriented • Attend a meeting to prepare for this on Sat, Feb 8 or Sat, Feb 15 from 4-5pm • Arrive at Sala Techno at 1pm on Fri, Feb 21
Where is CamTESOL? • Institute of Technology, Cambodia (ITC) • On Russian blvd., just east of RUPP
How much does CamTESOL cost? • Registration is free for you. • You need to arrange your own accommodation and transportation. • There is no per diem. • On Saturday there are free snacks in the morning and afternoon, and a free lunch. • On Sunday there is a free morning snack.
Why go to CamTESOL? • For professional development • To share your ELT experience with other participants • To meet new people • To get a certificate
Don’t forget… • Eat Breakfast before you come to the conference. • Dress like a teacher. • Be on time. • Try to meet new people, Cambodians and foreigners. • Get handouts from workshops. • Look at the conference schedule on Friday, and circle some workshops that you want to attend.
