  2. Definition/ WHO defines cancer as the uncontrolled growth and spread of cells, also called as “Malignancy” or “Malignant tumor”. Carcinoma is the cancer that arises from inner lining of internal organs. These organs could be from the digestive tract such as stomach, esophagus, colon or gall bladder and other organ systems such as the respiratory system (Lungs and Larynx) or Genito-Urinary system (Cervix, Uterus, Ovary, Kidney, urinary bladder etc.).
