My name is Danny Coggin, Principal at Walker Valley. • I apologize but I have no voice. • I am going to show a series of slides that have some important dates attached to them. • I will have this published to our website so you do not have to write everything down. • After my slides Mr. Jackson, our Senior Counselor, will introduce our guest. • Thank you for your patience.

Important Dates • January 10 Cap/Gown information to students • January 14 TN Achieves Mandatory Meeting in Cafeteria • January 16 Balfour returns to take orders • January 21 Schools Closed Martin Luther King Day • January 31 NAEP TEST* • February 6 RTTT Wednesday • February 18 Schools Closed Presidents Day • February 26 Parent Teacher Conferences 4-7

Important Dates Continued • March 4 – 8 Last Week of 9 Weeks • March 4 Circle of Champions Registration Begins • March 5 RTTT Wednesday • March 11 TN Achieves Meeting Mandatory • March 15 All Juniors to CSCC • March 19 All Juniors ACT • March 25 – April 1 Spring Break • April 25 Circle of Champions Sr. Banquet

  5. April 27 Prom* • * Students who have 10 or more unexcused absences for the year are ineligible to attend the prom. • *Students who have had a drug or alcohol suspension are ineligible to attend the prom

May • 22nd Abbreviated Day Report Cards in Gym • * * Baccalaureate (optional) at Candies Creek Baptist Church • *** These are test dates for these tests – those students who have taken the class will need to take and pass these tests in order to obtain college credit. • We have no control over when these tests are given.

  8. National Assessment of Educational Progress • We will test approximately 100 senior students on January 31 in the Media Center. • Students are selected randomly by NAEP. • This test is very important to our school and to our state. • The test takes approximately 90 minutes. • Students will be tested in either Math or Reading. • One of 123 schools in Tennessee selected. • This is called Our Nation’s Report Card.

  9. Credit Recovery • Monday/ Thursday afternoons 3:35 – 4:30 • Tuesday / Thursday mornings 7:15 – 8:10 • Monday/Tuesday/Thursday 1 Hour Lunch • February 1 deadline for Credit Recovery from previous years • March 22 Deadline for completion of Credit Recovery from 1st semester
