Good News • CPAs have increased to 500 • SB70 Increased • Near 10,000 CTE courses qualify for a-g admission • New State Superintendent • USDOE recognizes the value of CTE • Business has stepped in

So, What Do We Do Next • Tackle the hard issues and come up with great solutions • Discover what works • Measure, Measure, Measure • Recognize and publicize success • Integrate business interests • Clarify the roles of the segments • Become a central driver and resource for high school transformation
Great Solutions • Lead the application of new technologies • Develop real postsecondary connections • Align courses with the CTE Standards and Framework and/or industry standards • Implement standards-based instruction • Expand use of Programs of Study • Formally assess CTE skills acquisition • Improve data analysis and use.
Great Solutions • Explicitly demonstrate academic support • Change Adult Behaviors/Mind-Set/Skills Set • Increase funding • Adopt career preparation requirement • Improve teacher preparation and credentialing • Implement business advisory committees for every course • Expand work-based learning
