Oak is a tree of which about 600 species exist. Oaks are summergreen or evergreen trees. The leafs from the oak are very skinny and leatherlike, they are really smooth and spiny. The leafs are falling very early on the ground. The mark of the oak are his fruits- the acorns. Basic informations
Already in the early days the people noticed that the oak has the amount of insects (thousand species in the tree crown). The oak is a food source for caterpillars from many butterfly species. Ecology
